Marika Amrine, MS, LPC

Marika Amrine graduated in 2006 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BS in Psychology. She then returned to her hometown of Kansas City, MO to start a family and develop her leadership skills. Once there, she hit the ground running by working with a variety of major corporations. One of those shining moments was creating the now defunct girls program, Shades of Beauty for a Charter High School in Kansas City. Her next accomplishment was graduating in 2015 from Avila University with a MS in Counseling Psychology. Since then, Ms. Amrine has worked in the Truman Behavioral Health outpatient clinic and with inpatient clients at Research Psychiatric Center. She has consistently had the passion and drive to provide her community with their counseling needs, even starting a free nonprofit therapy clinic. Most recently, Ms. Amrine has served as the Clinical Director of Treatment Services for a local substance abuse treatment center.

Through these experiences working with community mental health, she has learned that services are not equally accessible to all. Out of a need for the underserved culturally diverse populations to obtain therapy, Amrine Counseling & IOP was born! As a completely virtual practice, she is proud to provide high quality mental health and substance abuse counseling to all.
